Product Manager I

Product ManagerAkro-Mils, a Myers Industries Company, products handle your toughest challenges! Our industry-leading line of plastic and metal storage, organization, transport and material handling products are designed for industrial, medical, retail and home settings.The Product Manager will set strategic pricing and floor pricing targets and work cross functionally with Marketing, Sales, Customer Service, Manufacturing and Supply Chain. This role is responsible for defining the product mix by partnering with the Marketing Manager. The Product Manager will be comfortable solving ambiguous problems using both quantitative and qualitative data, synthesizing information to deliver key insights to leadership.This position requires multi-departmental interface to marketing, sales, customer service, branch operations, manufacturing and procurement. Key functional requirements will be to utilize industry trend information to develop demand models in extrapolating potential and projected sales, lead the product family and/or corporate-wide Commercialization process, chair the Product Review Meeting as part of the Sales & Operations Planning process, manage key Sales & Marketing performance indicators including sales funnel measures, commercialization stage gate metrics, project delivery statistics, and participate actively in the overall Sales & Operations Planning process.Duties and ResponsibilitiesDefine the product strategy & roadmap0-2 year asset strategy and executionLead Product Management Team (PAMT)Establish floor pricingDefine optimal product mix with Marketing ManagerLead periodical product portfolio reviews (ABCxyz and profitability analyses) to determine SKU rationalizationAsset utilization for maximum business profitabilityAssessing competitive challenges and deliver clear strategic recommendationsSupport business-critical projects such as understanding sudden changes in core business metricsDeliver product cost reductionSupport Marketing with Market and Competitor Intelligence effortsWork with subject matter experts to scope, design, test and deliver product solutionsWork with sales, sales operations, customer service and operations to review and refine customer service policies consistent with market expectation and business capabilitiesRecommend demand shaping actions in response to market conditionsCreate and maintain the by-SKU Phase-In/Phase-Out planKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesAbility to recognize and envision future and develop effective plans to get thereCommunication skills to express and gain support for ideas and concepts verbally, visually and in writingTeam orientation, communication, presentation and people skillsAbility to gather and analyze information quickly to drive decisions in a fast-paced work environmentSystematic-process approach, analytical skills, problem solving skills and decisivenessComfortable navigating speed, change and ambiguityProven leadership of cross-functional teams delivering sustainable process, financial, and operational results.Proactive, results focused and striving for continuous improvement.Planning and organization to set targets, milestones and follow through on commitments.Ability to motivate others to a high level of performance without administrative authority (work through others)Education and ExperienceBS/BA required.
