Deli Associate

We are seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Deli Associate to join our small, family-owned deli at Trolley Square. As a Deli Associate, you will play a crucial role in providing excellent service to our customers and ensuring the deli's smooth operation. Responsibilities Customer Service: Greet and assist customers in a friendly and courteous manner. Answer questions, provide recommendations, and take orders with a smile. Food Preparation: Prepare sandwiches, salads, and other deli items according to established recipes and customer requests. Ensure food quality and freshness. Maintain Cleanliness: Keep the deli area and equipment clean and sanitized. Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Stock and Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and restock deli products as needed. Keep track of expiration dates and rotate products to minimize waste. Cash Handling: Accurately handle cash transactions, process payments, and provide customers with receipts. Maintain a cash register and handle cash responsibly. Product Knowledge: Stay informed about the deli's menu, ingredients, and specials. Be prepared to answer customer inquiries and provide information about our offerings. Teamwork: Collaborate with other Deli Associates and kitchen staff to ensure a smooth flow of operations. Assist with various tasks as needed. Customer Feedback: Listen to customer feedback and address their concerns or suggestions. Strive to enhance the overall customer experience. Qualifications Previous experience in food service or a deli setting is a plus but not required. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Basic math skills for cash handling and inventory management. Food safety and hygiene knowledge is beneficial. A strong work ethic and a willingness to learn. Dependable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours. Additional Information Physical Requirements Standing for extended periods.
