Overview

Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for ultrasound exams, explain procedures, position patients, and help ensure comfort during imaging
- Use transducers to scan, capture, and optimize images of the abdomen, heart, blood vessels, or fetus
- Review images for quality, identify normal or pathologic findings, and summarize findings for physicians
- Maintain ultrasound equipment: prepare, clean, troubleshoot, and ensure proper operation of machines
- Collaborate with radiologists and physicians to determine the most appropriate imaging approach

Requirements
- Current ultrasound licensure or eligibility to practice in the applicable state
- Certification in diagnostic medical sonography (e.g., RDMS) or equivalent preferred
- Prior clinical ultrasound experience, with ability to perform abdomen, obstetric, cardiac, and vascular exams
- Ability to work in a hospital setting and 12-hour day shift schedule
- Strong patient communication and patient safety focus
- Basic computer and imaging equipment proficiency; willingness to troubleshoot equipment as needed
