About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: MS/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum 2 years in Specialty License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: BLS required; ACLS and OCN preferred Must-Have: - Telemetry experience - Interpretation of dysrhythmias - Starting IVs - PICC line management - Ability to manage diverse patient diagnoses Description: The position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical Surgical and Telemetry. The role involves working in an Observation Unit with a focus on high-quality patient care. The unit manages patients with anticipated short lengths of stay, typically up to two midnights. Patient diagnoses include dehydration, nausea, vomiting, chemotherapy symptom management, and acute kidney injury, among others. The goal of the unit is to provide efficient care without premature discharge or admission. Patients are generally stable and unlikely to require an upgrade in care. The ratio of patients to nurses is 1:4, with additional resources available, including RNs, PCAs, and UCAs. Interdisciplinary support includes teams from various specialties such as Physical Therapy and Respiratory Services. The position requires familiarity with telemetry monitoring and effective communication skills. Experience with Epic documentation is necessary. Candidates must have current acute care experience in the specialty they are applying for. The position may require floating to assist in other units as needed.
