Senior Personnel Specialist Open to Lynwood Unified School District employees only. Position Details Full-time position; eight hours per day; twelve months per year. Basic Function The job of the Senior Personnel Specialist is to serve as the district’s administrative expert for the established absence management system including legal compliance, employee attendance oversight, substitute coverage, and employee productivity; the first point of contact for leave of absence requests and workers compensation claims. The specialist educates employees on leave processes and procedures, ensuring compliance with all state and federal laws related to FMLA, ADA, CFRA, EEO, FEHA, PDL, PFL, PLA, PSL, Temporary Disability Insurance (TDI), Long Term Disability (LTD) and other leave of absence issues. Distinguishing Characteristics This position is a senior level technical role that serves in a lead status over the Human Resources Department and performs specialized duties of absence management while providing backup support to Personnel Specialists and other staff members as needed. It reports to the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources or designee. Education and Experience Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in human resources, risk management, business administration, public administration, or a related field. Three (3) years of experience in human resources, risk management, or business administration. Any other combination of education, training, and experience, which demonstrates that the applicant is likely to possess the required skills, knowledge, or abilities, may be considered.
