Summary The Director of Sales & Marketing plans, controls and directs the daily activities of the sales and marketing team to obtain maximum sales efficiencies while maintaining high quality standards. The Director of Sales is responsible for ensuring the site meets/exceeds the monthly site budget in a positive and compliant manner. This position is responsible for directing the operation and providing motivation, guidance and leadership to associates so they meet/exceed the objectives of the site. The Director of Sales is also responsible for providing guidance, direction and producing the expected operating results, while maintaining a Count on Me work environment for all associates. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Provide leadership to the day-to day operations of the Sales and Marketing departments, while maintaining focus on the company’s strategic goals. (20 % time) Responsible for the achievement of the established targets in regards to VPG, net sales volume and closing percentage of the site. (20 % time) Proactively contribute to and support efforts to attract, retain, train and motivate a diverse Sales and Marketing workforce. (10 % time) Manage the performance of Sales and Marketing Leadership through the consistent application of WVO performance management by: (1) establishing performance goals and action plans for all Sales & Marketing management; (2) working with Sales & Marketing management to establish performance goals and action plans for the Sales and Marketing Associates. (20 % time) Responsible for developing and maintaining a strong work relationship with key business partners and associates within and outside of WVO. Ensures Sales and Marketing operations are integrated within the overall guest experience. (15 % time) Ensure the highest level of customer service to current and prospective owners in order to maintain a positive brand image and company reputation (10 % time) Performs other duties as needed (5% time) Travel Requirements Travel Requirements may be up to 10% of the time. Minimum Requirements and Qualifications Director of Sales Experience in the timeshare industry Education High School Diploma, GED or equivalent Valid Florida Real Estate License required Knowledge and skills Minimum 2-3 years of previous sales experience Strong ability to recruit, train, develop and motivate Associates Proven ability to manage significant responsibilities in a fast paced environment Ability to understand and interpret financial documents Ability to budget and forecast production Strong customer service and interpersonal skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to consistently lead site(s) to meet/exceed minimum expectations Solid ability multi task in and manage time to meet business needs Ability to analyze and develop meaningful solutions for business opportunities Strong conflict resolution skills Proactive with identifying issues and determining appropriate solutions Ability to successfully collaborate with individuals on a regular basis Ability to consistently hold team accountable to expectations and performance standards Must be proactive and take initiative to support the business Detail oriented and able to be flexible in a variety of situations Strong developer of people Ability to make timely and sound decisions and solve problems by assessing relevant information, drawing on past experience and applying critical thinking to develop an appropriate solution Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change Technical Skills Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Timekeeping and other software Ability to effectively learn and operate PC based systems/platforms and iPads. Job experience Three (3) years preferred experience successfully leading or directing in a sales environment Past prior experience with increasing responsibility in management positions within sales leadership Unless there is a legal requirement, experience will be accepted for the education requirement. Complexity Describe the following: Level of decision making authority Position has a high level of decision making for Sales and Marketing Associates at all levels Identifies issues and determines appropriate action Ability to determine solutions for customers Ability to direct process improvements to the operation if appropriate Determines site(s) strategy and sets the course to achieve company objectives Level of autonomy Position has a high level of autonomy and is responsible for making appropriate decisions for site(s) The impact of his/her decision on the organization Decisions made have a significant impact on the success of the site, the region and the Sales and Marketing organization Supervisory responsibility: Position supervises Managers and Supervisors in the Sales & Marketing departments. Additionally, the position is responsible for overseeing the leadership for all Sales & Marketing Associates. Scope/Financial Responsibility Position is responsible for driving the following revenue: 5M+ (two or more brands Organizational Relationships Position is required to maintain positive and collaborative relationships with all site leaders and associates. Additionally, the Director of Sales must build solid relationships with Corporate, HR, Recruiting, Training, Administration, Consumer Finance and all other internal support functions. Director of Sales is to maintain positive relationships with all external vendors. Work Environment Office environment with high utilization of phone, computer, iPad, copy machine, scanner, fax and handling of paperwork. Please check off all physical demands of the position.
