Duties: The Naperville Police Department employs a staff of more than 280 employees (this includes 192 budgeted sworn positions), whose mission is to provide extraordinary service to the community while protecting life and property. In addition to the traditional patrol and investigative functions of a suburban law enforcement agency, our department is also able to sustain a great number of positions in specialty assignments and collateral duties only typically seen in larger departments. Such assignments include a Water Rescue Team, Special Response Team, Crisis Negotiators, Field Training Officers, School Resource Officers, Traffic Officers and K-9 Officers, to name a few.
