Key Responsibilities Performing thorough patient assessments, ordering necessary diagnostics, and developing bespoke care plans. Diagnosing and managing acute, chronic, or episodic illnesses collaboratively with physicians or independently (as per credentialing). Providing education to patients and families on preventative care, wellness, and disease management. Prescribing medications and therapies aligned with your scope of practice. Meticulously documenting interactions in electronic medical records (EMR). Education & Certification Requirements Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Mandatory Certifications Active Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state of Virginia. National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP, or ANCC) or equivalent specialty. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or the ability to procure within 90 days).
