• You will plan, prepare and present cyber threat briefings to the NAVAIR workforce.
• You will respond to specific program customers having cyber intelligence requirements.

• Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
• This is a Cyberspace Workforce position. The incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the DS-02 (GS-08) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

(1) identify present and future intelligence requirements, (2) perform cyber threat systems research, (3) conduct cyber threat analysis, (4) prepare/present cyber threat reports and briefings (5) developing policies and procedures to ensure information systems reliability and accessibility and to prevent and defend against unauthorized access to systems, networks, and data, (6) conduct risk and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed information systems to identify vulnerabilities, risks, and protection needs, (7) promote awareness of security issues among management and ensuring sound security principles are reflected in organizations' visions and goals, (8) conduct systems security evaluations, audits, and reviews, (9) assess security events to determine impact and implementing corrective actions, and (10) ensure the rigorous application of information security/ information assurance policies, principles, and practices .

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Education

GS-09 or equivalent:

Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree

or

2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree
