Mechanical Engineer

Job Description
An industry leading multi-disciplinary team is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer for their Detroit team!

Responsibilities:

• Project/Client management
• Prepare proposals
• Administer project contracts, including Add Service Agreements
• Understand work planning/manage the design process to the available hours in the work plan
• Supervise staff or self-perform the following:

oUnderstand the proper scope of SD, DD, CD level documents and deliver appropriate documentation

oAdvanced heating and cooling load calculations with Trace or HAP

oDevelop air and water flows calculations

oSections and elevations of complex ductwork and piping areas

oEquipment room sizes during SD and DD phases

oSpecifications to reflect the project requirements

oModify sequences of operations for AHU's, CHW and HW systems

oCoordinate with other disciplines for all HVAC details

oMeet with vendors to determine specification requirements for application

oMeet with contractors during the bid phase to review the design details

oRespond to RFI's for the project and accurately review submittals

oPerform field verification and take-offs of existing systems for renovation projects

oUnderstand both constant and variable flow systems, and properly apply equipment

oUnderstand fan/

opump curves to properly select equipment for application

oUse the psychrometric chart properly for any HVAC system

• Review designs prepared by others as part of Osborn's QA/QC process
• Attend meetings with clients, authorities having jurisdiction, and other professionals as projects require
• Conducting business development activities, participate in various trade organizations, and prepare/assist with presentations

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering preferred
• 8+ years of mechanical design experience in Consulting Engineering
• Experience in design in Healthcare, Commercial, Public Sector, Industrial, Education, and/or Institutional projects
• PE License preferred
• Ability to work and manage several project teams concurrently.
• Working knowledge of Revit

Salary is commensurate with experience.
