Head of Events

We are seeking an exceptional Head of Events to lead the design and delivery of world-class convenings that inspire scientific collaboration, strengthen our global Fellowship community, and advance the mission of Schmidt Science Fellows. Events are central to how Schmidt Science Fellows delivers its mission. Through thoughtfully designed convenings, we develop the next generation of science leaders, foster lifelong connections across disciplines, engage influential partners, and showcase the power of interdisciplinary science to the wider scientific community. Our annual events portfolio includes intimate leadership development programs, international scientific convenings, high-profile stakeholder events, and flagship public showcases. Together, these events bring hundreds of scientists, university leaders, philanthropists, funders, policymakers, and partners together in experiences that are intellectually rigorous, operationally excellent, and intentionally designed to build lasting relationships. Our recent events have taken place in North Carolina, California, Washington, DC, Oxford, Toronto, and Singapore, often in partnership with leading universities, scientific organizations, and global philanthropies. Reporting to the Deputy Executive Director, the Head of Events is responsible for the strategic design and flawless delivery of all Schmidt Science Fellows events. Working closely with senior leadership, event programming leads, communications, operations, and external partners the Head of Events serves as both an operational leader and strategic thought partner, ensuring every convening advances our organizational mission while delivering an exceptional participant experience. The Head of Events continually seeks opportunities to improve systems, introduce innovative approaches, leverage emerging technologies, and enhance the impact of every event. The role includes line management responsibility for the Events Coordinator in the US office. #J-18808-Ljbffr
