Physical Therapist - Travel Contract

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's, Master's or Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy from accredited schools approved by the APTA.
• Active California Physical Therapist license required to start the assignment.
• BLS Certification from AHA or ARC may be required.
• Experience in outpatient setting preferred, including evaluations and 1:1 treatment models.
• Experience treating adults, geriatrics, and pediatric patients preferred.
• Ability to manage schedules with 1-hour evaluations and approximately 30-minute treatment sessions preferred.
• Comfort working with military families and within communities that support high referral volumes, including integrated care partners such as large health systems preferred.

Assignment Details

• Facility Type: Outpatient.
• Shift Name: Days.
• Setting: Outpatient with 1:1 patient care model and hour-long evaluations.
• Typical patient volume: approximately 17 treatments per 9-hour day when schedules include 30-minute sessions; lower volume when evaluations are scheduled.
• Patient population: adults, geriatrics, and pediatrics.
• Clinicians may provide care across locations in Twentynine Palms and Yucca Valley; ability to float between nearby clinic sites may be required.

The region sits at approximately 3,300 feet elevation and features a dry desert climate with hot summers and low humidity. The area is known for low light pollution favorable to stargazing and hosts a strong creative community with art galleries and music events in nearby towns. The presence of the Marine Corps Combat Center contributes to a significant military family population and related community services. Traveler-friendly housing options are commonly available within short commutes to clinic locations.
