About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC Must-Have: 2 years of Emergency Department experience Description: Hiring process includes an interview with the clinical team. No unit manager involvement in the interview process. Candidates may be expected to float throughout the designated zone. Each zone covers a 60-mile radius from the city center. The traveler is responsible for obtaining housing within this radius. Orientation week is required for all clinicians in state. Average patient volume is approximately 63 patients per day. Nurse to patient ratios are 1:4-5 based on acuity. All nurses must have the required certifications. Common diagnoses include abdominal pain, diabetes, NSTEMI, pneumonia, trauma, stroke, and hypertension. Staffing includes nurses, techs, and charge nurses who have patient assignments. Respiratory therapy is available 24/7 for treatments and ABGs. There are no monitor techs; nurses must interpret telemetry themselves. Phlebotomy will perform point-of-care testing as trained. Shifts consist of 12-hour rotations. Scheduling is determined by leadership based on unit needs. Weekend requirements are every other weekend. Holiday requirements will also be every other holiday. There are no call or standby requirements. The dress code specifies navy blue scrubs. Unit-specific orientation lasts 2-3 days. The cancellation policy allows for up to 4 shift cancellations per 13-week assignment. Charting system is EPIC. A BSN is not required for this position.
