The Data Engineering Lead is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the organization’s data infrastructure. This role ensures enterprise data is properly ingested, transformed, validated, and delivered for analytics and decision-making. The mission of the role is to create reliable, scalable, and trusted data pipelines that enable accurate reporting and confident business decisions. Key strategic priorities include leading enterprise Lakehouse implementation and migration, modernizing data platforms and pipelines, and establishing a high-quality data foundation to support dashboards, advanced analytics, and AI initiatives. Key Responsibilities Design and maintain enterprise data architecture, including Nexus Circular’s centralized data strategy Build and manage scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and data workflows Develop and optimize data transformations and models Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability across systems Implement best practices for data engineering, governance, and performance Support analytics and reporting teams with clean, structured data Integrate new data sources and systems into the enterprise platform Partner with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions Lead technical execution of advanced analytics and AI-enablement initiatives Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field Master’s degree preferred in Data Science, Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent 8+ years of professional data engineering experience Strong expertise in SQL and modern data platforms Proven experience building production-grade data pipelines Deep understanding of data modeling, transformations, and orchestration Experience implementing enterprise data architectures Working knowledge of database management Preferred Qualifications Experience with Lakehouse architectures and large-scale migrations Background in manufacturing or operational data environments Familiarity with analytics tools and BI platforms Experience enabling AI/ML data workflows Key Competencies Technical leadership and architectural thinking Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Attention to data integrity and quality Ability to collaborate across the organization Benefits Eligible to contribute to Company’s Traditional 401(k) and Roth 401(k) upon hire with Company Contribution Multiple comprehensive coverage levels for Medical, Dental, & Vision Group Health & Wellness Program, plus special savings on retail items, travel, entertainment, and more through Insperity Works Flexible Spending Accounts and Health Savings Accounts Basic and AD&D Life Insurance Voluntary benefits, including short-term and long-term disability insurance, accident, critical illness, and hospital confinement insurance.
