Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs

The client invites nominations and applications for the position of Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. Reporting to the president, the provost oversees the Academic Affairs division, including curriculum, faculty governance and personnel matters, and academic resources and offices. The provost is responsible for the integrity, excellence, and innovation of all academic programs and initiatives and is a key member of the president’s cabinet. The position involves close collaboration with faculty, staff, students, and trustees to advance the client’s mission as a liberal arts institution. The client’s academic community emphasizes developing students’ intellectual, personal, and moral potential through logical and critical thinking, creativity, analysis of values, and clear communication, alongside preparation for lives of learning, leadership, and service. The ideal candidate will have progressive leadership experience in higher education and proven ability to lead in a shared governance environment, with strong knowledge of liberal arts values, academic operations, and strategic planning. A commitment to creating and nurturing inclusion and belonging in an academic setting is required. An earned doctorate or equivalent terminal degree and a record of distinguished scholarship and teaching, requisite for appointment as a tenured full professor, are required.
