Special Education Teacher - Middle School Grade Level Chicago IL, 60643 SchoolHouse Staffing is hiring a Special Education Teacher for a middle school assignment on Chicago's South Side (60643 area) for the 2026-2027 school year. This is a full-time, W-2 position paying $45.00-$55.00 per hour, Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours per week, at a single partner school building. Pay Scale $45.00 - $55.00 per hour. Actual rate within this range depends on licensure, endorsements, relevant experience, and assignment requirements. Paid weekly. Based on a 37.5-hour work week. This range reflects what SchoolHouse Staffing reasonably expects in good faith to pay for this assignment at the time of posting. About the Role SchoolHouse Staffing partners with school districts across the Chicago area to place special education professionals. In this role you will: Serve as the case manager for an assigned middle school caseload Write, implement, and monitor IEPs, and lead IEP meetings Deliver specialized instruction in resource, co-taught, and/or self-contained settings Collect and report progress-monitoring data Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, families, and school administration Comply with all district, state, and IDEA requirements for documentation and timelines Requirements Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Learning Behavior Specialist I (LBS1) endorsement, or eligibility to obtain one before the assignment start date Ability to pass a background check and meet all district onboarding and health requirements Legally authorized to work in the United States Other Grade Levels This posting is for a middle school assignment.
