We are seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to join our clients manufacturing team and play a key role in maintaining product quality, food safety, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction. Position Summary

As a Quality Assurance Technician, you will be responsible for monitoring, auditing, and documenting product quality throughout the manufacturing process. You will work across multiple departments to verify compliance with quality specifications, food safety standards, and company procedures.

In this role, you will have the authority to stop or hold production when quality standards are not being met and will partner with operators, supervisors, and management to identify and correct non-conforming conditions. You will also play an active role in training, auditing, and supporting our Food Safety System.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance & Inspections

  • Inspect raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with customer and company specifications.
  • Conduct quality inspections throughout all manufacturing departments, including Plate, Press, Lamination, Slitting, Converting, and Warehouse operations.
  • Perform product testing and verification activities to confirm adherence to established quality standards.
  • Audit operator inspections, samples, and documentation for accuracy and compliance.
  • Document inspection results and testing data according to company procedures.
  • Monitor quality performance and identify trends, issues, or opportunities for improvement.

Food Safety & Compliance

  • Support and enforce compliance with GMPs, Food Safety, SQF requirements, Food Defense, Sanitation, Pest Control, Supplier Approval Programs, and other prerequisite programs.
  • Conduct daily facility audits to ensure regulatory and company food safety standards are met.
  • Maintain direct oversight of Sanitation, Preventive Maintenance, and Pest Control programs.
  • Assist with food safety training, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure all food safety and quality documentation is accurate, complete, and up to date.

Investigations & Corrective Actions

  • Investigate internal and external non-conformances and customer complaints.
  • Document findings and support corrective and preventive action activities.
  • Manage hold material procedures, including maintaining hold area records and logs.
  • Work closely with production teams to resolve quality concerns and prevent recurrence.

Team Collaboration

  • Communicate effectively between shifts to ensure consistency and continuity.
  • Partner with production, maintenance, warehouse, and management teams to drive quality improvements.
  • Assist with quality training and coaching for operators and production personnel.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

Safety & Documentation

  • Support a safe work environment by following all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Report workplace hazards, incidents, and safety concerns promptly.
  • Maintain records related to quality audits, training, product samples, inspections, and testing activities.
  • Ensure testing equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and clean.

Qualifications

  • Technical degree, certification, or equivalent manufacturing experience.
  • 2-5 years of quality, manufacturing, or food safety experience preferred. .
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to interpret specifications, blueprints, templates, and quality requirements.
  • Knowledge of flexible packaging operations is a plus.
  • Experience working with Quality Systems Regulations, ISO standards, and SQF Food Safety Systems.
  • Understanding of statistical measurements, percentages, ratios, and quality-related data analysis.

Physical Requirements

  • Regular standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and reaching throughout the workday.
  • Frequent use of hands for handling materials, testing equipment, and documentation.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Ability to safely handle larger materials using appropriate lifting equipment.
  • Visual abilities including close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Work Environment

This position is located in a manufacturing facility that is clean, well-lit, and well-ventilated. Employees may be exposed to:
