Executive Director, Strategy, Cell Therapy

AstraZeneca seeks an executive director to shape strategy and drive commercial initiatives for cell therapy across defined disease areas. This role leads end-to-end portfolio strategy, competitive intelligence, and global commercial execution, reporting to the VP of Cell Therapy Strategy and Commercial.

Responsibilities

Develop end-to-end indication-level strategy including unmet needs assessment and competitive portfolio positioning
Own competitive intelligence, market analysis, and customer insights generation to inform strategic recommendations
Build referral capabilities and drive global commercial execution across cell therapy delivery centers
Lead cross-functional teams spanning clinical development, discovery, and commercial areas to develop disease strategy content
Ensure forecast robustness and maintain evidence banks from real-world data sources

Requirements

Bachelor's degree and 10+ years life sciences or consulting experience, OR Master's/MBA and 8+ years, OR PhD/MD and 5+ years
Proven ability to lead and influence experienced professionals in senior roles
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities
Experience navigating fast-paced, matrixed organizational environments
Strategic planning expertise with demonstrated business acumen in pharma
Financial acumen including forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis
Scientific background and understanding of pharmaceutical R&D operations

Compensation: $267,914-$401,870 annual base pay
