Assistant Store Manager

Compensation Pay Range: $16.00 - $25.00 per hour. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation includes annual, quarterly performance, or premiums paid in amounts ranging per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met. Responsibilities Support the Store Manager in areas of sales, customer service, store appearance and store operations. Manage the store during the Store Manager’s absence and/or when working opposing shifts. Lead the store team members in servicing customers and providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers. Supervise the customer service levels on the retail showroom to include team member execution on customer service programs (Related sales, Hi5, Rock the Call, Never Say No, Rock the Lot, etc…) Work with the store manager to ensure the retail sales counter is adequately staffed, especially during peak retail business hours (lunch, late‑afternoons, evenings, weekends, etc.). Assist the store manager in setting team member goals, providing feedback on goal achievement, coaching/mentoring team members, and ensuring team members stay current on their individual training. Assist in the hiring process by completing recruiting tasks, scheduling and participating in interviews, evaluating candidates, and collaborating with management to ensure the selection of qualified team members. Make sure the telephone is answered according to company policy. Ensure all buy online/ship to store, hub and store to store transfers, and DC add orders are processed in a timely manner, contacting customers upon shipment arrivals as needed. Utilize electronic outside purchase order ledger to ensure special orders and outside purchases are handled efficiently and according to procedure. Process retail customer returns and exchanges efficiently, issuing refunds accurately and using the correct payment methods; process or stage returned merchandise in the returns area correctly. Ensure all merchandise, including core charges and warranties, are invoiced before product leaves the store. Communicate Zipline messages and delegate Image Maker and merchandising tasks as assigned. Ensure all team members comply with company policies, including adherence to posted work schedule, proper approval of changes/deviations, and accurate clocking in/out. Perform all store opening/closing duties: day end procedures, verifying/securing money and deposits, preparing bank deposits, ensuring night security lights are on, locking doors and securing the building, arming/disarming security alarms, and securing delivery vehicles. Assist the store manager in maintaining the store building, parking lot, exterior signage/lighting, computer hardware, in‑store service/test equipment, and delivery vehicles. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required: Sales Specialist Training, Assistant Manager Certification and RSS Certification. Desired: Certified Parts Professional Certification; ASE Certification. Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired). Bilingual candidates encouraged.
