Network Services CoordinatorOswego Community Unit School District 308 is currently recruiting exceptional candidates for the position of Network Services Coordinator. This is a 12 month position starting immediately. COMPENSATION: The recommended candidate for this position will receive a regionally competitive salary range of $68,000-$70,000 depending on educational background and experience. Support the day-to-day availability and reliability of the district instructional and administrative networks, phone systems, surveillance systems, and Verkada access control system.Performance ResponsibilitiesMonitor daily operations of the network, wireless, and voice systems for possible issues.Provide reliable support for the district network, wireless, and voice infrastructure.Actively participate in the recruitment, hiring, and training of technology support personnel.Communicate to users and administration on problem status and measurements.Define, schedule, and log all activities associated with the maintenance of network, wireless, and voice hardware/software.Manage and maintain district network & voice management hardware/software to assure high availability for maximum network/phone uptime.Perform phone system moves, adds, and changes.Manage the assignment and inventory of the district-provided cell phones.Implement configuration changes to address any vulnerabilities or security concerns to mitigate risk as it pertains to the internal, external, and wireless networks.Support the configuration of the surveillance system and user requests for access and footage.Utilize the district strategic plan to proactively identify and integrate innovative network-based technology solutions.Assist in the development, standardization, and implementation of effective network and voice procedures and methodologies for preventive maintenance and replacement plans and other long-range planning.Provide technical training, guidance, and supervision for other staff relative to network and voice operations.Works with the Network Services Manager to schedule projects and assign staff in areas of responsibility.Assist the Network Services Manager with e-rate planning and ordering.Consult with various vendors to evaluate, identify, procure, or troubleshoot network-related solutions.Travel between district buildingsPerform other related duties as assigned.QualificationsThree years of experience in support of local and wide-area networks.Two years of experience managing people.One year of experience in support of wireless, voice systems, voicemail, telecom circuits, etc. Avaya is a plus.Demonstrated experience leading and successfully completing enterprise-wide project implementations.Demonstrated experience with the maintenance of networking and associated equipment.Working knowledge of application tools: word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and diagramming for technical documentation.In-depth knowledge of common network protocols, including but not limited to DNS, SLDAP, DHCP, VOIP, SMTP, and SFTP.Security engineering experience, including firewall rule set construction and management, intrusion detection systems, and network access control systems.Demonstrated knowledge of layer 2 switching, specifically VLAN, STP, and port management.Demonstrated knowledge of layer 3 routing, including dynamic routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP).Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.Must be able to lift 50 lbs.Education RequirementsAssociate degree in Information Systems or equivalent training and experience; bachelor's degree preferred.CCNA desired; CCNP, CISSP, or related certifications a plus.Juniper/Mist experience/certifications a plusPalo Alto experience/certifications a plusPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform functions of this job.
