Assistant Property Manager Job Summary
In this vital role, you will assist with leasing, resident relations, rent collections, financial administration, and overall property performance. Working closely with the Property Manager and maintenance team, you will help ensure operational efficiency, resident satisfaction, and occupancy targets are met. The ideal candidate is organized, customer-service driven, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

In this vital role, you will assist with leasing, resident relations, rent collections, financial administration, and overall property performance. Working closely with the Property Manager and maintenance team, you will help ensure operational efficiency, resident satisfaction, and occupancy targets are met. The ideal candidate is organized, customer-service driven, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the daily management and operations of the property.
- Support occupancy, leasing, and resident retention goals.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, Fair Housing regulations, and lease agreements.
- Maintain organized resident files and accurate property documentation.
- Assist with vendor coordination and follow-up on property-related services.
- Conduct property tours and assist prospective residents through the leasing process.
- Process rental applications, lease renewals, move-ins, and move-outs.
- Address resident concerns and resolve issues professionally and promptly.
- Maintain positive resident relationships and support resident retention initiatives.
- Assist with marketing and outreach efforts to maintain occupancy goals.
- Process rent payments and monitor delinquency reports.
- Assist with collections, payment plans, and resident account management.
- Support monthly reporting, budgeting, and invoice processing.
- Maintain accurate records of leasing activity, occupancy, and resident communications.
- Work closely with the maintenance team to ensure timely completion of work orders and make-readies.
- Monitor apartment turns and vacancy readiness.
- Conduct property inspections to ensure cleanliness, curb appeal, and safety standards are maintained.
- 2+ years of multifamily property management experience preferred.
- Experience with leasing, collections, and resident relations.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of Fair Housing regulations and property management operations.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
- Experience with occupancy stabilization and delinquency management.
- Preferred education includes relevant experience in property management; specific educational requirements are not mandated but experience is valued.
