Description The Echocardiography Sonographer performs echocardiogram procedures to assess cardiac structures and hemodynamics in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice, independently of supervision. Location UCHealth UCHlth Anschutz Inpt Pavilion, Aurora, CO, USA Department Echocardiography Work Schedule Full Time, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks) Shift Days Pay $42.01 - $58.82 per hour (dependent on experience) Employment This position is onsite with no hybrid or remote option. Responsibilities Review patient history and physician's orders. Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation; set expectations for receipt of results. Independently perform echocardiography procedures on patients; select and use transducers according to anatomy, differentiate normal and abnormal structures, and ensure sufficient information is acquired for diagnosis. Select appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters; prepare and administer contrast media or medications within scope of practice when indicated; monitor patient condition and report changes in status. Implement safety standards and perform quality control procedures on equipment; troubleshoot, resolve, and report equipment malfunctions. Analyze results and identify issues with imaging quality; enter, transmit, and report scan results. Minimum Requirements Graduate of an accredited Cardiac Sonography program OR Associate's degree in allied health OR a Bachelor's degree in any area. Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI). Minimum Experience: None required; 1 year preferred. Registered Sonographer. Reg Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer. Registered Cardiovascular Sonographer.
