These values shape our culture, guide our decisions, and create an environment where employees thrive.If you're an experienced welding professional looking for a great new opportunity to grow within the trade, keep reading!WHAT YOU'LL DO AS OUR CERTIFIED STRUCTURAL WELDER:Work from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday with overtime available and some weekends as neededPlan, lay out, and fit metal components while maintaining alignment tolerancesSet, fit, and erect structural assemblies and modules within alignment tolerancesLocate and mark reference lines (center, buttock, and frame lines)Properly align parts using jacks, turnbuckles, clips, wedges, and maulsInstall structural foundations and items like doors, hatches, brackets, and clipsTack weld panels, bulkhead, assemblies, and moreSafely roll, bend, flange, cut, and shape metal parts using machinery like ironworkers, presses, plate rolls, and press brakesAccurately follow blueprints and instructions with minimal supervisionComply with all safety procedures, quality expectations, and company policiesWHAT WE'RE OFFERING:Experience -based pay of $20.00 - $24.00/hourPTOHealth insuranceDentalVision401(k)Company partiesWhen you join SteelCon, you join a company committed to your long‑term success through advancement opportunities, career development, and a workplace where your contributions truly matter.WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:If you're interested in becoming our Certified Structural Welder, you'll need to be able to:Maintain American Welding Society certification on a 1-inch plate in flat position using the gas metal arc welding and flux-cored arc welding processesAdequately operate a cutting torchAdjust the welder to ensure proper feed rate and temperatureProperly operate forklifts, jib hoists, and overhead cranesLearn and use hand signals for crane operationRead, understand, and follow cutting lists, shop orders, and shop drawingsPerform general math calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, etc.)Read, write, and follow semi-complicated verbal and written instructionsCommunicate with managers and co-workersSet priorities, meet goals, and work under periodic supervisionUse a tape measure/rulerFollow safety policies and take accountability for your workMultitaskYou will need to pass various welding tests, including:The fillet weld break test using the gas metal arc welding processA basic welding test that covers shop drawing interpretation, weld symbols, welding processes, weld process symbol interpretation/application, and a visual acuity testA fitting test that covers shop drawing interpretation, fractional number calculations, basic geometry, etc.Meet the qualifications listed above?
