Construction Project Manager

A growing Chicagoland general contractor with 40+ years of experience delivering complex commercial, healthcare, food manufacturing, and high-end construction projects. Over 90% of work comes from repeat clients and referrals. Services span construction management, general contracting, and design-build, with a culture built on accountability, teamwork, and client focus. Location: Chicagoland Area (~30 min commute to Blue Island, IL) Project Types: Healthcare, Ground-Up, Commercial TI, Food Manufacturing & Cold Storage Salary: $110,000–$130,000 base, based on experience, plus bonus potential Position Overview We're seeking a Project Manager with 7–10 years of experience to own larger, technically demanding projects across healthcare, ground-up, commercial TI, and food manufacturing/cold storage work. Candidates who started in the trades — ideally as a carpenter — are strongly preferred for the field‑to‑office perspective they bring to constructability and trade coordination. Responsibilities Manage projects from preconstruction through closeout across healthcare, ground-up, commercial TI, and food/cold storage work Develop and maintain schedules, budgets, and forecasting reports Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams Lead project meetings and stakeholder communicationReview drawings, specs, contracts, and project documentation Manage subcontractor procurement, buyout, and performance Track costs, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and pay applications Identify and mitigate project risks Ensure compliance with safety, code, and quality standards, including healthcare (ICRA) and food/cold storage requirements Support estimating and preconstruction as needed Maintain client relationships that drive repeat business Qualifications 7–10 years of construction PM experience Healthcare, ground-up, commercial TI, and food mfg/cold storage experience strongly preferred Trade background (carpenter or similar) a strong plus Bachelor's in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered Strong scheduling, budgeting, and cost control skills Ability to read drawings/specs and coordinate multiple trades Proficient with construction management software and MS Office Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills Self‑motivated, proactive problem‑solver What You’ll Find Here Technically challenging, diverse project portfolio (healthcare, ground-up, food mfg/cold storage) Full‑cycle exposure from concept through completion Direct access to company leadership Clear growth path #J-18808-Ljbffr
