Two leading healthcare systems in Alabama have united to enhance patient care by establishing a Department of Urology/Urologic Oncology as part of a comprehensive academic collaboration.

With over 110 years of experience, our organization has been a cornerstone of high-quality healthcare, representing the largest integrated, non-profit healthcare system in Alabama and the Central Gulf Coast. Annually, we handle approximately 1.5 million patient visits and hold nearly 60% of the healthcare market share in the primary counties we serve. Our system includes four hospitals, a multi-specialty group with 230 physicians, and over 30 outpatient facilities, making us a prominent healthcare provider in the region.

Currently, our organization lacks Urologists within its multi-specialty physician group. We aim to recruit 4-6 Urologists under the guidance of a newly appointed Chief of Urology. The recruited team will consist of General Urologists, Cancer Urologists, and other necessary Urologic subspecialties. The recruitment process will be a collaborative effort between the UAB Department of Urology at the Heersink School of Medicine and our organization.

The flagship facility, UAB Hospital, features 1,207 beds and is one of the largest public hospitals in the country, housing specialized centers such as the UAB Women & Infants Center and the Spain Rehabilitation Center.

This position is based in Mobile, AL, at Infirmary Cancer Care, an affiliate of the UAB O'Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center. The current program includes 6 Medical Oncologists, 3 Radiation Oncologists, 3 Complex General Surgical Oncologists, 2 Breast Surgeons, 2 Thoracic Surgeons, and 2 Colorectal Surgeons, providing care across 2 multi-disciplinary cancer centers and 3 additional clinic locations. This role is a full clinical position within the Department of Urology at the UAB Heersink School of Medicine, with employment through the University of Alabama Health System Foundation.

For eligible Physicians, membership in the O'Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center at UAB will be available, enhancing the role by providing access to cutting-edge research, clinical trials, and opportunities for Clinical/Translational Research. Competitive compensation will be offered based on MGMA benchmarks.
