Job Details:Level: ExperiencedJob Location: Middletown, CT 06457Position Type: Per DiemEducation Level: AssociatesSalary Range: $44.45 - $55.55HourlyTravel Percentage: NoneJob Shift: VariedJob Category: Health CareLocation: 211 S Main & 420 Saybrook What you’ll do: Prepares and positions patients for MRI of various parts of the body, setting up equipment (coils, monitoring devices, etc.) and positioning the patient for optimal imaging. Screens patients and personnel for ferrous metal implants or other ferromagnetic objects, ensuring compliance with safety protocols. Selects appropriate pulse sequences from the monitoring console per protocols established by Physicians & MRI Supervisor, records all sequences and may recommend protocol adjustments for diagnostic clarity. Evaluates scanning results for quality and completeness, manipulates images with console controls, and identifies and resolves issues. Photographs images from the LCD display using a multi‑format laser camera, ensuring proper display format and text. Sends images to PACS, verifies exam completeness, and develops working knowledge of PACS capabilities. Performs daily quality‑assurance tests on equipment. Monitors cryogen levels to maintain magnet integrity. Notifies VP of Operations, MRI Supervisor, and service personnel of system problems and documents issues accurately. Seeks guidance from resources when uncertain of protocol or policy. Responds sensitively to patients’ physical and psychological needs, communicating delays as appropriate. Maintains room hygiene and applies universal precautions. Assists with patient transfers to or from a wheelchair when required. Performs other duties or projects as assigned. Qualifications Graduate of an approved radiology school (two‑year course). Valid Connecticut X‑Ray/MRI Technician license and ARRT registration. Minimum two years’ experience as an MRI Technician (preferred). Orthopedic and/or neurological experience preferred. Ability to work well under pressure. Strong interpersonal and customer‑service skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
