Registered Medical Assistant

The Registered Medical Assistant position is under the supervision of a physician. The RMA to the Physician is responsible for providing direct or indirect care to patients who present with urgent, emergent, or potential health problems; utilizes knowledge of basic Medical Assistant principals, practices and ethics; participates in the organization and management of the physician's practice.

Responsibilities

• Assist physician in setting up for procedures and exams, revising daily schedules; obtaining charts and charge tickets, locating lab tests and X-ray reports
• Ensure that patient chart/EMR entries are made accurately and in a timely manner
• Contact pharmacy to order new and refill prescriptions; notify patient; document appropriately
• Notify outside facilities or personnel of physician's orders

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Registered Medical Assistant Certification
• 12 to 18 months related experience and/or training
• EMR Experience, preferred
• Prior Urgent Care experience, preferred
