Accounting ManagerSpectrum Medical Care Center is dedicated to providing best-in-class primary and specialty healthcare to LGBTQ+ individuals and those living with HIV/AIDS in Arizona. We recently launched PrideCare Rx, our for-profit pharmacy, and you will manage the accounting for both entities. In Q2 2027, we'll be moving into our new 22,000 sq ft facility in central Phoenix. That growth means real chances to shape how Finance works. You will partner with clinical, pharmacy, revenue cycle, HR, and operations leaders, so clear communication matters as much as technical skill.Key ResponsibilitiesClose and ReportingOwn the monthly close calendar and make sure it finishes on time.Review journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals. Confirm balance sheet accounts are supported.Prepare monthly financial statements and budget-vs-actual reporting for leadershipSupport the annual budget, forecasting, and financial analysis.Explain variances in plain language to non-finance partnersCore Account OperationsOversee the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll accounting.Maintain the chart of accounts across entities. Keep intercompany activity clean.Manage fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and capitalization policy.Apply lease accounting under ASC 842.Healthcare and Nonprofit AccountingAccount for 340B program activity as the covered entity, including contract pharmacy reconciliations.Work with revenue cycle on patient revenue, contractual adjustments, and cash application.Track grant and restricted funds. Support grant reporting and compliance.PrideCare Rx (pharmacy)Own the accounting for PrideCare Rx, Spectrum's pharmacy and a separate for-profit legal entity. This includes close, GL, AP, reconciliations, and financial statements.Manage pharmacy inventory accounting, including costing, physical counts, and cost of goods sold.Reconcile wholesaler purchases, third-party payer reimbursements, and 340B administrator activity.Account for intercompany activity between Spectrum and PrideCare Rx. Keep the nonprofit and for-profit books clean and separate.Support for-profit tax filings with outside advisors.Report pharmacy results and key metrics to leadership.Controls, Audit, and ComplianceMaintain internal controls and document key processes.Prepare schedules and support for the annual audit and Form 990.Help with sales, payroll, and other tax filings as needed.Team LeadershipImprove processes and automate where it makes sense, including using AI tools for reconciliations, analysis, and reporting.Act as backup to the Controller when needed.QualificationsMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.5+ years of progressive accounting experience.Strong working knowledge of GAAP, month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct or a comparable ERP.Advanced Excel skills (lookups, pivots, reconciliations).Preferred QualificationsFamiliarity with nonprofit, 340B, multi-entity accounting (nonprofit and for-profit), ASC 842, grant accounting, or retail pharmacy and inventory accounting.Experience with audits and Form 990 preparation.Experience with payroll platforms and AP automation tools.Experience working with LGBTQ+ communities, people living with HIV, or other underserved populations.Personal AttributesHungry: We expect everyone to strive for greatness and achievement.Inclusive: We create and promote a work environment where EVERYONE can thrive.Resilient: We don't let small setbacks or major adversity stop us from achieving our goals.Empowered: Self-motivation is our secret sauce to success.Curious: Curiosity can lead to greater happiness and motivation in both work and life.Reliable: You are accountable and you take ownership of your tasks and commitments.Licenses and CertificationsValid Driver's License (required).Must be able to obtain an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card during background check process.
