Senior Process Engineer

Job Title: Senior Process EngineerThe Senior Process Engineer works as a technical expert on the successful delivery of projects for clients as a member of a project team within a market program (Asset Integrity Management Services). This includes providing technical expertise to the project manager and project team members with initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling and closing projects.Schedule and Location:The position has a hybrid work schedule consisting of Tuesday through Thursday in the office. Monday and Friday provide the option to work remotely or from the office.This open role is located at our modern ten-story corporate headquarters in Spring, Texas.What You Will Do:Plan, conduct and supervise engineering design reviews and analysis assignments involving a major project or several smaller ones.Applies conventional knowledge in a particular field of engineering.Review project plans to understand the scope, schedule and assigned work.Prepare written documents, reports and presentations.Develop understanding of the technical requirements and challenges and provide suggested opportunities of the business to formulate opportunities to enhance effectiveness and efficiency on assigned projects, in day-to-day job tasks, and amongst team members.Provide hands-on technical expertise to support execution of project tasks, including:Development and review of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs)Review and interpretation of material and energy balancesReview and interpretation of process equipment sizing and specificationsPerformance or review of hydraulic calculations and pipe sizingSupport and participate in process safety and risk management activities, including:Process Hazard Analysis (HAZOP), What If, FMEA, risk assessments, and root cause analysesParticipation in Process Safety Management (PSM) activitiesLeading or supporting electrical hazardous area classification (EHAC) studiesParticipation in Damage Mechanism Assessments and Corrosion Control ProgramsPerform or review pressure relief device (PRD) and relief valve sizing, specification, and documentation in accordance with applicable codes and standards.Participate in client and team meetings.Track and accurately report hours spent on projectsWork with individuals at all levels, provide input to reports and other deliverables, execute multiple assignments, meet agreed deadlines, and adjust to changing client demands.Perform quality assurance on project deliverables.What You Will Need:Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in engineering required (Chemical preferred); Advanced degree preferred6+ years of relevant professional experienceProfessional certification preferredExperience in a plant environment and/or within a consulting services organization preferredKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesAbility to gain, retain, illustrate comprehension of learned technical knowledge, and transfer knowledge to other members of the teamAbility to actively listen to the needs of our clients by receiving shared information, determining context and evaluating the information provided, and engaging and collaborating with the sales team on potential opportunities by providing solutionsOpenly accept change as part of business evolution to meet the needs of our clients, provides recommendations to enhance business, and drives change amongst colleagues and on assigned projectsPossess a firm understanding of key performance indicators and their significance to the business and takes action to drive results amongst colleagues and on assigned projectsAbility to utilize established rapport and role as subject matter expert with existing customers to identify and generate new business opportunitiesAbility to coach others on development and customer intimacy and new opportunitiesMust take responsibility for the actions, behaviors, decisions and results of themselves and the team they leadAbility to utilize root cause analysis to improve performanceMust understand departmental goals and hold themselves and team members accountable for keeping commitments and high standardsMust be dependable and consistentAbility to demonstrate independent, objective, open-minded thinking with strong attention to detail and sound judgmentMust be an effective multi-tasker utilizing proficient time management skillsWorking knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental Management SystemThis role will involve approximately 30% travelIt Would Be Nice If You HadProfessional or chartered engineer license.Country RequirementsUS Citizenship required for roles supporting government contractsReporting Relationships:Reports to a manager, director, or executive level position
