The Medical Assistant supports providers and clinical teams by preparing exam rooms, taking vital signs, obtaining patient histories, and assisting with examinations and procedures. Daily responsibilities include verifying and documenting patient information, managing medical records, coordinating appointment flow, and handling basic clinical and administrative tasks in the medical office setting. The role involves direct patient interaction, including providing clear instructions, supporting patient comfort, and ensuring a safe, clean environment. The Medical Assistant collaborates with nurses, physicians, and other team members to promote efficient, patient-centered care and uphold UC Health’s standards of quality and professionalism. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Medical Assisting skills, including supporting examinations, procedures, and routine clinical tasks. Candidates should possess knowledge of Medical Terminology to accurately understand and document clinical information. Candidates should possess experience in a Medical Office setting, including appointment coordination and basic administrative responsibilities. Candidates should possess skills in Patient Care, including taking vital signs, gathering histories, and maintaining patient comfort and safety. Candidates should possess familiarity with Medical Records management, including accurate documentation and adherence to privacy regulations. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program and current certification or registration (e.g., CMA, RMA) preferred. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within a designated timeframe. Effective communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
