Equipment Operator

Job Title

R B Hinkle Construction Inc. is seeking experienced Equipment Operators and CDL Class A or B Drivers to join our team in Sterling, Virginia. These positions support underground utility construction through the safe operation of heavy equipment and/or the transportation of materials and equipment to and from job sites.

Job Responsibilities

Operate a variety of heavy equipment including, but not limited to, excavators, loaders, dozers, rollers, and graders in a safe and efficient manner.

Perform pre-operation and post-operation inspections of equipment and complete daily maintenance checks.

Transport materials, equipment, and supplies to and from job sites using CDL A or B licensed vehicles.

Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations while operating vehicles and equipment.

Load and unload materials and equipment safely.

Assist with general labor duties on job sites as needed.

Communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers, and other personnel.

Maintain a clean and organized work environment and equipment.

Identify and report any mechanical issues or safety concerns immediately.

Follow project plans and specifications accurately.

Job Qualifications

Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.

Minimum of 2-3 years of experience operating heavy construction equipment.

Proven experience safely operating a variety of equipment.

Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds, standing, bending, and working in various weather conditions.

Strong understanding of construction site safety protocols and procedures.

Ability to read and interpret project plans and blueprints is a plus.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Reliable transportation to and from the Sterling, Virginia office/yard.

Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
