Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the duties, responsibilities, knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. One (1) year experience in baking and/or food service operations desired. High school diploma or equivalent required. Knowledge in the food service industry with an understanding of nutrition, sanitation, and food safety required. Safe Serve Certification required. Duties & Responsibilities Assist the cook in preparing all items according to standardized recipes; complete calculations of recipes to assure desired yield and quality. Apply principles of safe and sanitary food handling, preparation and storage. Assist in completing paperwork to include what inventory was used. Monitor serving lines to ensure enough menu items are in warmers and refrigerators. Put away timely and properly store materials when deliveries arrive. Prepare materials for the following day including removing inventory from the freezer and storeroom. Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager of Food Services. Physical Requirements Ability to reach above and below the waist. Ability to use fingers to pick, feel and grasp objects. Ability to use both hands for repetitive motion. Ability to bend, twist and kneel. Ability to lift/carry supplies weighing 30 lbs. or more. Ability to stand or walk for an extended period of time. Occasional kneeling, crouching and squatting. Occasional reaching and stretching. Occasional pulling, pushing. Level of Compensation This position's salary is determined by the collective bargaining plan for Support Staff Employees. The starting salary for this position is $19.87/hour. After the completion of the 90-day probationary period, this position is eligible for a raise to bring the salary to $20.39/hour.
