Join an established cardiovascular team in Blacksburg, Virginia, providing Interventional Cardiology coverage for weekend STEMI and trauma call. This locums opportunity offers 24/7 inpatient call coverage with APP and nursing support while helping maintain Chest Pain Accreditation and trauma services.

Assignment Details

Coverage Dates:

• Friday, August 14, 2026, 5:00 PM - Monday, August 17, 2026, 7:00 AM
• Friday, August 28, 2026, 5:00 PM - Monday, August 31, 2026, 7:00 AM

Coverage Requirements:

• 24/7 call coverage
• Inpatient Interventional Cardiology
• Approximately 8 days of coverage per month

Schedule:

• Weekend call coverage
• Friday evening through Monday morning

Clinical Details & Responsibilities

Practice Setting:

• Inpatient Hospital

Patient Volume:

• Approximately 15 patients

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Provide 24/7 Interventional Cardiology call coverage
• Perform interventional cardiology procedures
• Provide STEMI coverage
• Evaluate and manage inpatient cardiology consults
• Respond to emergent cardiac cases
• Collaborate with trauma and emergency teams
• Work closely with nursing staff and Advanced Practice Providers
• Document patient care using EWC EMR

Requirements

• Board Certified in Interventional Cardiology required
• BCLS required
• ACLS required
