Phlebotomist II

Job Summary Collect venous and capillary specimens using Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and aseptic technique in multiple inpatient and outpatient settings; perform bedside testing; perform Laboratory Information System (LIS) functions; provide instruction to students/personnel; perform laboratory related duties as requested by the Manager. Minimum Training & Education High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and 1 year phlebotomy experience as a phlebotomist required. Physical Requirements Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, working indoors and outside in temperature extremes, from elevated areas, in confined spaces, kneeling positions, bending, twisting, squatting, pinching, gross motor, firm grasping, fine manipulation, reaching overhead, repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders, full use of legs, lower extremity balance and coordination, reaching in all directions, lift and carry 50 lbs unassisted, lift longer objects, exert up to 50 lbs of force, visual and hearing abilities, stress management, rotating shifts, overtime, latex safe environment, tactile and olfactory sensory functions, respirator use. Additional Job Description Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience: At least 6 months phlebotomy experience required. Credentials: Completed Accredited Phlebotomy Certificate Course. This is a Career Ladder Position. Internal candidates must meet Path and Lab ICCE Career Ladder requirements; external candidates must complete these within 90 days.
