This role supports home-based childcare providers across Queens by conducting monthly health, safety, and nutrition monitoring visits.The Health Monitor ensures compliance with NYC and New York State regulations while providing coaching, guidance, and corrective support aligned with early childhood standards and the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). This position plays a critical role in promoting safe, healthy, and high-quality childcare environments for children and families.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct monthly health, safety, and nutrition monitoring visits to home-based childcare providersAssess compliance with NYC/NY State childcare regulations and CACFP standardsDocument visit findings accurately and maintain detailed, up-to-date recordsProvide coaching, guidance, and corrective action support to providersMonitor and report any health or safety concerns in a timely mannerSupport providers in implementing best practices in health, safety, and nutritionCollaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent quality and complianceEnsure adherence to all organizational, city, and state regulationsQualificationsEssential RequirementsLanguageBilingual English/Spanish (fluent in reading, writing, and speaking) – requiredEducation / CredentialsCDA, Associate's degree, or higher in Child Development, Human Services, Public Health, or a related fieldExperiencePrior experience in childcare, early childhood, health & safety, or nutritionExperience with family or group family childcare providers preferredFamiliarity with CACFP and childcare regulations preferredCore SkillsStrong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skillsAbility to provide supportive coaching and constructive feedbackClear written documentation and strong verbal communicationCultural competency and a provider-centered approachStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsTravel & Work EnvironmentAbility to travel efficiently throughout Queens for regular home visitsComfortable working in a field-based environment within provider homesTechnology SkillsProficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, Zoom, and Google DocsCompliance RequirementsNYC DOE PETS Clearance (required or ability to obtain)How to ApplyInterested candidates should submit a resume and cover letter outlining their qualifications and interest in the role.
