Job Title: Radiology Technician Reports To: Clinic Manager Location: Grants Pass, Oregon - 1701 Hawthorne Ave. Grants Pass, OR, 97527 Job Type: Full Time FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Pay Range: $32-$45/hour DOE Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM -5:00 PM

Job Summary: The Radiology Technician is responsible for performing general X-ray procedures according to the provider's orders from primary care and the Walk-In Clinic (WIC). The Radiology Technician utilizes knowledge and judgment regarding exposure factors, imaging technique, and patient treatment.

• Prepares patients for radiological procedures according to provider orders, notes, and instructions.
• Reviews and completes the patient's medical history and relevant clinical information as needed.
• Explains procedures to patients and assists with proper positioning to obtain quality diagnostic images.
• Applies appropriate radiation safety practices, including the use of shielding and protective equipment.
• Operates X-ray equipment and adjusts technical settings to obtain high-quality images with appropriate density, detail, and contrast.
• Performs digital radiographic examinations of designated areas of the body for diagnostic purposes.
• Maintains accurate patient records and documents radiologic procedures as required.
• Completes related documentation and processes information using electronic medical records and computer systems.
• Performs routine equipment checks and basic maintenance to ensure equipment is safe and functioning properly.
• Promptly reports equipment malfunctions or concerns to the appropriate manager.
• Monitors radiology supplies and maintains adequate inventory; orders or requests supplies as needed.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance in accordance with company policy.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:

• Work Environment: 100% clinic-based position with continuous interaction with patients. May involve exposure to airborne pathogens and other routine healthcare-related hazards. Requires adherence to applicable safety procedures, infection-control practices, and clinic policies. Potential exposure to ionizing radiation; proper safety and shielding protocols required.
• Travel Requirements: Primarily clinic-based; occasional local travel may be required as needed. MAs may be asked to help cover at another clinic.
• Physical Demands: Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, reach, push, carry, and lift as required to perform job duties. Ability to maintain physical mobility throughout the clinic. Vision and hearing must be within functional range, with corrective devices as needed.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

• Education:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
  • Graduate from a certified Radiologic Technology school or program.
  • Current applicable state licensure from the Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI) in Radiologic Technologist, Diagnostic, and national registration in Registered Technologist in Radiography (ARRT-R) required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required or ability to obtain.
• Experience:
  • Minimum 1-year related work experience.

Knowledge & Skills

• Can demonstrate knowledge of medical terminology, drug dosage information, and medical abbreviations.
• Familiarity with computerized medical management programs preferred.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant's training program or a minimum of two (2) years' experience as a medical assistant in a medical office or clinic preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to analyze information and follow established procedures.
• Strong procedural and organizational skills.
• Commitment to quality, safety, and patient care.
• Computer, printer, calculator, fax machine, copier, multi-line phone system, and other standard office equipment.
• Standard medical laboratory equipment and supplies.
