Delivery Lead

The primary purpose of a Delivery Lead under a Delivery Supervisor is to act as a key operational support role that facilitates the effective execution of delivery tasks and ensures smooth day-to-day operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervise daily activities of delivery drivers, ensuring adherence to schedules and routes.
• Assign and monitor delivery tasks based on priorities and workload.
• Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to delivery efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Provide feedback to drivers on their performance and areas for improvement.
• Serve as the primary point of contact between drivers and the Delivery Supervisor.
• Relay important information, updates, and changes regarding routes and deliveries.
• Assist in onboarding and training new delivery personnel.
• Mentor and support team members in adherence to best practices and company policies.
• Address and resolve operational challenges that arise during deliveries, such as route changes or customer complaints.
• Collaborate with the Delivery Supervisor to implement solutions for recurring issues.
• Help optimize delivery routes and schedules to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Monitor traffic conditions and adjust routes as necessary to ensure timely deliveries.
• Ensure that all delivery operations comply with safety regulations and company policies.
• Assist with maintaining accurate documentation related to deliveries and vehicle inspections.
• Interact with customers as needed to ensure satisfaction and address any delivery-related inquiries or issues.
• Monitor drivers' adherence to safety protocols and conduct regular checks on vehicle conditions.
• Report any maintenance needs or safety concerns to the Delivery Supervisor.
• Assist with daily administrative tasks, such as timekeeping and reporting.
• Help manage inventory of delivery supplies and materials.
• Serve as a backup driver on days that are short-staffed, including running an entire route if necessary.

• Flexibility to adjust to changing priorities, unexpected issues, or operational demands.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

• GED or high school diploma
• 6 months delivery experience, preference given with logistics experience.
• Forklift certification and ability to operate a n electric pallet jack.
• Class A CDL License Required with approved driving record
