Job Title: RN - PICU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 - 19:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of current acute care hospital PICU RN experience License: RN License Certifications: BLS & PALS Must-Have: Candidates must have at least 1 year of current acute care hospital PICU RN experience. Candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role. Description: This position involves working in a pediatric intensive care unit. The unit is equipped with 15 beds and a diverse staff. Staff includes intensivists, registered nurses, respiratory therapists, desk technicians, and case managers. On the day shift, there is an intensivist present along with registered nurses and other support staff. Patient ratios are typically 2:1. The unit utilizes general critical care monitoring equipment. The electronic medical record system used is Meditech/CPN. Candidates should work well under pressure and have experience in a teaching hospital. Patient care experience is a top priority. Typical procedures performed in the unit include IV starts and blood draws, as well as TPT placements. Candidates with CRRT experience or experience in a pediatric teaching hospital are preferred. The best fit for this position will be someone who thrives in high-pressure situations and values patient care.
