If you're comfortable working with measurements, blueprints and metal fabrication equipment, this could be a great opportunity to build a long-term career. We're hiring a Press Brake Operator in Hastings, NE for a temp-to-hire position with a consistent Monday-Friday day schedule.

In this role, you'll set up and operate a press brake to bend, form, notch, punch and straighten metal according to blueprint and specification requirements. Accuracy matters, so we're looking for someone who pays close attention to measurements and takes pride in producing quality work.

What You'll Do

• Set up and operate press brake equipment to form metal plates, sheet metal and structural shapes
• Select, position and align dies in the machine
• Adjust ram pressure and die clearance based on material thickness and required bends
• Lay out setup pieces using blueprints and templates
• Position workpieces and adjust backstops according to print dimensions
• Set machine stops and reposition materials for successive pieces or multiple operations
• Verify finished dimensions to ensure parts meet specifications
• Bend, notch, punch, form, roll, arc and straighten metal as required
• Devise and build temporary dies when needed
• Follow safety procedures and equipment operating instructions

Skills We're Looking For

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches and technical specifications
• Strong understanding of measurements and close tolerances
• Ability to accurately read and use:
  • Tape measures
  • Combination squares
  • Protractors
  • Vernier calipers
  • Micrometers
  • Other precision measuring instruments
• Ability to read and understand safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
• Basic written communication skills for routine reports and correspondence
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, fractions and decimals
• Ability to calculate rates, ratios and percentages
• Strong attention to detail and quality
• Steel-toed boots required
