Senior Project Manager - Ground Up Light Industrial

Senior Project Manager We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Project Manager for our Light Industrial division in the Chicagoland area, a mid‑sized general contractor specializing in light industrial, cold storage/food processing, and healthcare projects. The ideal candidate will oversee all aspects of light industrial construction projects, including subcontractor coordination, labor costs, material costs, and RFPs. Job Details Location: Chicagoland area Salary: $125,000 - $175,000 per year Type: Full‑time, hybrid work Responsibilities Oversee all stages of the project life cycle, managing project development from initiation to closure. Coordinate with subcontractors, ensuring all parties are on track with project requirements, deadlines, and schedules. Manage labor and material costs, ensuring the project adheres to budget limitations. Prepare and submit project estimates and RFPs, providing detailed and accurate cost projections. Establish effective project communication plans and ensure their execution. Monitor project progress continuously and produce detailed scheduled reports on measurable items such as milestones and deliverables. Foster positive relationships with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards. Identify and manage project risks, developing effective mitigation strategies. Implement and manage changes when necessary to meet project outputs. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field. Minimum of 10 years of project management experience in the construction industry. Minimum of 3 years of experience in light industrial construction. Proven experience in subcontractor coordination, labor costs, material costs, and RFPs. Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment. Exceptional leadership, organizational, and time‑management skills. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines without compromising quality. Proficiency in project management software tools. PMP or equivalent certification is an asset. Knowledge of safety regulations and quality standards in the construction industry. Ability to foster positive relationships with a variety of project stakeholders.
