Role Description The Boiler Technician role at GCB Industries is a full‑time, on‑site position located in Alvin, TX. The Boiler Technician is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing industrial boilers and related fired equipment, including burners, combustion controls, and associated piping and valves. Day‑to‑day tasks include performing diagnostics and troubleshooting on boiler systems, conducting preventive maintenance, completing code‑compliant repairs, and assisting with installations and commissioning of new or rental boiler units. The role also involves documenting work performed, adhering to safety and compliance standards, coordinating with supervisors and project teams, and providing responsive service to meet customer operational needs. The Boiler Technician may support field service work across regional customer sites and collaborate with fabrication and controls teams as required. Qualifications Demonstrated experience in boiler maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting, including work on burners, combustion controls, and pressure vessels. Knowledge of mechanical systems, piping, valves, and industrial utilities, with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics. Familiarity with safety regulations, ASME codes, and best practices for working with high‑pressure steam, hot water systems, and fired equipment. Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to make sound technical decisions in the field. Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with service crews, supervisors, and customers in a fast‑paced environment. Ability to work on‑site in industrial settings, including standing, lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces or at heights as needed. Relevant technical training or certification in boiler operation, HVAC, or industrial maintenance; trade school or apprenticeship is preferred.
