Job Summary

The Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) provides high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals presenting with acute, urgent, and emergent medical conditions. The ER RN rapidly assesses patient needs, prioritizes care, and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to stabilize and treat patients in a fast-paced emergency setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform rapid patient assessments and triage according to ER protocols

• Provide emergency nursing care for trauma, medical, and behavioral health patients

• Monitor patient conditions, vital signs, and responses to treatment

• Administer medications, IV therapy, blood products, and emergency interventions

• Assist physicians and advanced practice providers with procedures

• Document patient care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record

• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and discharge instructions

• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and HIPAA regulations

• Participate in emergency response situations, including codes and disaster preparedness

Requirements

Required

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Hawaii (or eligibility to obtain)

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification

• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Room or acute care experience (preferred; may vary by facility)
