Fully onsite in Wheeling, IL
Schedule: Monday- Friday 8 am-5 pm 
Half-day Saturday approximately once per month or every 6 weeks

Overview:

We are seeking a personable and customer-focused Showroom Design Representative to join our team.

This position works directly with customers, designers, architects, builders, contractors, and other industry professionals to help them select the right products and materials for their projects.

The ideal candidate has strong sales and customer service skills, an interest in design, and experience or familiarity with home improvement, construction, building materials, flooring, tile, cabinetry, countertops, or a related industry.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, has an eye for design, and wants a sales-focused role with a competitive hourly base plus commission.

Responsibilities:

• Welcome and assist customers and industry professionals in the showroom

• Consult with customers to understand their project needs, preferences, budget, and timeline

• Recommend products, materials, colors, styles, and finishes

• Build and maintain relationships with customers, designers, architects, builders, and contractors

• Identify opportunities to generate additional sales through consultative selling and product knowledge

• Respond to customer calls, emails, inquiries, and requests

• Follow up with customers and prospects throughout the selection and purchasing process

• Prepare and process customer orders accurately

• Maintain strong knowledge of products, materials, trends, and industry offerings

• Maintain a professional, organized, and attractive showroom

• Provide product presentations and recommendations when needed

• Work with internal teams to ensure a smooth customer experience from product selection through order completion

• Provide support to the customer service team and assist with other showroom and sales initiatives as needed

Qualifications:

• Sales, customer service, design, building materials, flooring, tile, cabinetry, countertops, home improvement, construction, or related experience preferred

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to build rapport and develop long-term customer relationships

• Comfortable discussing products, pricing, and recommendations with customers

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Ability to manage multiple customers, projects, and priorities

• Professional, polished, and customer-focused demeanor

• Ability to learn and maintain strong product knowledge

• Comfortable using computers and order-entry/customer management systems

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Creative mindset and interest in design and current industry trends

• Comfortable calculating discounts, commissions, percentages, and basic figures

• Associate degree or equivalent experience preferred

• Relevant industry, sales, or customer service experience may substitute for formal education

• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods

• Must be able to lift or move approximately 25 pounds

• Must be able to occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or reach
