Swiss CNC Lead Machinist & Setup Programmer

Compensation: $26.00–$30.00 per hour

Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. (enjoy three-day weekends)

When you arrive at 6 a.m., your Swiss-type CNC cell is your command center. You review the day’s schedule, verify raw materials are staged, and bring machines online. You’ll program and set up Swiss CNC lathes, validate first articles with CMMs and vision systems, and tune processes for cycle-time and quality. Through the day, you guide operators, troubleshoot issues, collaborate with leadership, and keep ERP data up to date. Before the lights go out, you confirm next-shift readiness and that the floor is safe, organized, and on plan.

• Programming and full setup of Swiss-type CNC machines
• Application of strong GD&T to ensure precision part quality
• Use of CMMs and vision systems for inspections and first-article verification
• Process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives
• Training, mentoring, and directing shop-floor personnel
• Coordinating schedules, ordering materials, and managing raw material inventory
• Driving daily floor operations and machine uptime in a manufacturing setting
• Promoting and enforcing a safe, high-performance work environment

• Leadership: Demonstrated success leading teams, assigning work, and elevating performance
• Problem solving: Rapid response to production issues, equipment downtime, and staffing gaps
• Communication: Clear collaboration with leadership teams and upper management
• Technical: Deep knowledge of CNC Swiss machines, production machining, and ERP systems; strong computer aptitude
• Planning: Scheduling expertise and purchasing/ordering experience
