Ho-Chunk Inc. Management Services (HCIMS) is seeking a full-time Subject Matter Expert to serve as a legal expert and training advisor. This role provides subject matter guidance and instruction for the Bureau of Diplomatic Security's extensive, specialized legal training program for DS Foreign Service-2501 Special Agents (FS), GS Civil Service-1811 Criminal Investigators (GS), and law enforcement and security support personnel assigned domestically and abroad to meet DS's global mission security requirements. Instruction is often provided to other Federal/state/local law enforcement personnel at the Foreign Affairs Security Training Center (FASTC), DS field and resident offices, other Department training facilities domestic and abroad, as well as to foreign government security and law enforcement personnel at the International Law Enforcement Academies (ILEAs). Coursework covers a broad and complex range of subjects that include but are not limited to the following: Federal and state laws, statutes, other legal authorities and case law pertaining to criminal investigations, arrest authorities and how to effect arrests, law enforcement, personnel/dignitary protection, passport and visa fraud, protection functions, use of force, weapons, defensive tactics/room entry, fire as a weapon, counter terrorism driving skills, surveillance detection, rules of evidence, and improvised explosives detection.
