Job Title

ORIENTATION IS MON-FRI 8a-4:30p FOR 2-3 WEEKS Includes time in Springfield at Mercy Medical Center

Position Purpose

Completes patient registrations/pre-registration processes in the ED following department procedures using identified technology systems. Processes include obtaining accurate demographic, insurance and patient liability information. Responsible for working with multiple department/hospital and web-based systems.

What You Will Do

• Performs complete and accurate pre-registrations, registration, and admission functions
• Verifies insurance requirements, obtains and understands insurance benefits
• Ensures that all entries concerning demographic, financial and advanced directives are
• Collects non-covered fees

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum High school or equivalent
• One year experience in an accredited hospital or physician's office preferred
• Strong interpersonal, communication and interview skills
• Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computer systems and computer devices
• Knowledge of medical terminology and medical insurances

Position Highlights and Benefits

• Part time 16hrs every two week cycle (equivalent of 8hr per week) on weekday 6:45a-3:15p shift
• ORIENTATION IS MON-FRI ON 8-4:30 DAYS FOR 2-3 WEEKS Some will be in Springfield at Mercy Medical Center
• 3rd week required if less than 1 year hospital-based registration experience
