Job Title: Cable Assembler

Job Description

The Cable Assembler builds and prepares electronic cables and assemblies by cutting, stripping, and soldering wires, applying EMI shields and overmolding, and performing compliance testing throughout the production process. This role works with both manual and automated tools and requires strong attention to detail, fine motor skills, and consistent adherence to documented procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Cut, strip, and prepare wires using both manual methods and automatic equipment and tools.

  • Perform precise soldering of small wires and components, including work under a microscope when required.

  • Apply overmolding by using epoxy and operating molding machines according to process documentation.

  • Install EMI shields on cables and assemblies to meet product specifications.

  • Scan and test products at multiple stages of the process to verify compliance with quality and performance standards.

  • Read and follow detailed process documentation written in English, step by step, without deviation.

  • Use a ruler and other measuring tools to perform accurate measurement checks on in-process products.

  • Conduct medium to high dexterity tasks repeatedly and consistently throughout a full shift.

  • Maintain focus and concentration while performing repetitive tasks and following standardized procedures.

  • Handle and solder sensitive electronic components while wearing appropriate ESD protection such as bracelets and jackets.

  • Work scheduled 10-hour shifts, four days per week (Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.), with Friday work available on an optional basis.

  • Support a clean, organized, and safe work area and follow all workplace safety guidelines.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to read and follow process documentation written in English accurately and consistently.

  • Ability to read and use a ruler for precise measurement checks of in-process products.

  • Capability to perform medium to high dexterity tasks repeatedly over a full shift.

  • Strong focus and attention to detail when following step-by-step process documentation.

  • Ability to work 10-hour shifts, four days per week (Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.), with optional Friday work.

  • Comfort working with and wearing ESD protection, including bracelets and jackets, while handling sensitive electronics.

  • Experience using hand tools in an assembly environment.

  • Hands-on experience with soldering small wires and electronic components, including work on PCB boards.

  • Previous experience in mechanical assembly, cable assembly, or related assembler roles.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience as a cable assembler or mechanical assembler in an electronics manufacturing environment.

  • Familiarity with PCB boards and electronic components.

  • Ability to operate automatic cutting and stripping equipment and other production tools.

  • Comfort working in a small team environment and collaborating with warehouse and production staff.

  • Strong manual dexterity and fine motor skills suitable for detailed assembly work.

  • Reliability and punctuality for fixed shift schedules.

Work Environment

The role is based in a modern, newly built facility with a start-up company feel and a small, tight-knit team of approximately 25 employees, including 6-7 people in the warehouse. Work is performed on-site in a production and warehouse setting, using hand tools, automatic cutting and stripping equipment, soldering tools, microscopes, and testing and scanning equipment for electronic assemblies. The standard schedule consists of 10-hour shifts, Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with Friday work available on an optional basis. Employees handle sensitive electronic components and are expected to wear appropriate ESD protection, such as bracelets and jackets, while performing soldering and assembly tasks. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Scottsdale, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
