Are you an experienced mechanic who takes pride in diagnosing and repairing equipment while keeping safety top of mind? We are looking for a safety-oriented Fleet Maintenance Mechanic who will carry out inspections, preventative maintenance and repairs, and help our fleet run at its best.What You'll Be DoingPerform maintenance and repairs according to company operating procedures and standards; fulfill all required regulatory agency obligations; analyze maintenance problems and determines solutionsOperate diagnostic equipment to analyze and identify needed repairs and problemsRepair pressure vessels, dry vans, fuel trailers, and all other GROWMARK equipment, as well as LP bobtails and fuel tank wagonsEnsure all necessary tools are available for completing daily workWelding and cutting techniques for fleet repairMaintain a safe and clean work environment and adhere to all company safety standards and guidelinesAttend and complete appropriate maintenance schools and D.O.T. trainingFollows GROWMARK's Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they applyPerforms all other duties as assignedWhat You Bring To The TableRequires a high school degree or GED equivalent to demonstrate the ability to read and interpret maintenance manualsPrefer diesel and/or heavy-duty truck maintenance experience and the ability to qualify to perform federal annual inspections and become a certified air brake technicianThe ability to climb into, out of, and work inside small, confined spaces with a 16-inch entry/exit openingDemonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill developmentMust have and maintain a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving recordProven verbal and written communication and customer service skillsAbility to perform work in confined spaces, stand for long periods of time, and lift items weighing up to 50 poundsMust be willing and able to work hours beyond those usually considered normalMust be willing and able to travel independently and overnightFrequently exposed to the following conditions: Extreme weather (hot, cold, wet, etc.), noisy conditions, dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards with appropriate safely measures.Must provide own mechanics toolsAbility and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK's policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.What We Bring To The TableStable schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00AM-3:30PMGenerous time off: 23 days of PTO per year, available from day oneRetirement benefits: Pension plan with vesting after 5 years of serviceComprehensive coverage: Affordable medical, dental, vision, and supplemental insurance optionsTraining: Hands-on training and opportunity to gain valuable certificates and licensesAt GROWMARK, we are dedicated to supporting the long-term financial well-being of our employees through a fully funded pension, a cornerstone benefit that ensures security for the future.
