This role will be a part of our Arlington based Cortland Build team, but may require onsite responsibility for Washington, D.C., Manassas or Leesburg based projects. Frequent travel to those sites is expected. Role Overview As an Interiors Manager, you help the Construction Manager ensure smooth transitions on all daily construction-related matters for the renovations and new construction plans of multi-million dollar, multifamily apartment home communities. The interiors manager will be the on-site representative reporting to the Construction Manager, using clear communication skills to ensure the successful completion of the project Experience with scheduling and executing multifamily unit renovations, hospitality experience will also be considered Familiarity with capex projects including exterior repairs, amenities, MEP upgrades and common areas a plus Track, organize, and maintain onsite construction materials inventory to ensure successful projects Familiar with accepted building practices including techniques, code requirements and market pricing Help with diligence walks, assessing property conditions, marking up site plans, and estimating repair costs for completing each project Assist with all the necessary project schedules to monitor, construction meetings to conduct, stakeholders to update, change orders and RFIs Help procure construction services Help monitor and maintain agreed-upon project budgets and schedules, overseeing construction activities, and communications with organizational stakeholders Update and maintain internal construction tracker daily Qualifications 2 + years of experience in the construction field preferred Comfortable leading construction crews to completion Familiar with construction equipment Stellar record in real estate, specifically in the construction field Proven project coordination skills for each stage of construction and renovation Strong analytical problem-solving and costing skills Able to communicate effectively with a diverse array of people Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Project) About Cortland Founded in 2005, Cortland is an international, vertically integrated multifamily real estate investment, development, and management firm with a resident-centric approach to living experiences.
