Job Description:\n\n Position Summary\n Wesley International is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with extensive experience in electrical engineering, manufacturing, automotive and specialty vehicle systems, quality improvement, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and advanced product development.\n This is a senior-level technical position requiring an experienced electrical engineer who can independently evaluate complex electrical systems, identify root causes of failures, resolve recurring quality issues, and implement sustainable engineering improvements.\n The ideal candidate will bring significant experience working within automotive, specialty vehicle, trailer, industrial equipment, or manufacturing environments, with particular value placed on experience with Electric vehicles, stock chasers, utility vehicles, pallet Jacks, trailers, and other specialized vehicle platforms.\n The Advanced Senior Electrical Engineer will serve as a key technical resource responsible for improving the reliability, quality, performance, manufacturability, and functionality of Wesley International's products and electrical systems.\n This position requires a highly analytical and hands-on engineer who is comfortable moving from engineering design and analysis to physical diagnostics, troubleshooting, prototype testing, manufacturing support, root-cause analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.\n Core Responsibilities\n Advanced Electrical Engineering\n \n Lead advanced electrical engineering activities for new and existing products, equipment, vehicles, and systems.\n Develop, evaluate, and improve electrical architectures, power distribution systems, wiring systems, controls, and electrical interfaces.\n Design and review electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, harnesses, control systems, and electrical assemblies.\n Select electrical components based on technical requirements, reliability, performance, environmental conditions, manufacturability, and cost.\n Perform advanced electrical analysis and engineering calculations.\n Evaluate electrical system performance and identify opportunities for improvement.\n Provide technical leadership on complex electrical engineering problems.\n Serve as a senior technical authority for electrical design decisions and engineering recommendations.\n \n Automotive & Vehicle Electrical Systems\n Provide advanced electrical engineering support for vehicle and mobile-equipment platforms, including:\n \n Autonomous and advanced vehicles (AV)\n Electric vehicles and battery-powered platforms\n Stock chasers\n Utility and commercial vehicles\n Specialty vehicles\n Trailers and trailer electrical systems\n Other engineered vehicles/products\n \n Responsibilities include:\n \n Develop and improve vehicle electrical architecture.\n Design and troubleshoot vehicle wiring and harness systems.\n Support power distribution and electrical protection systems.\n Integrate batteries, chargers, motors, controllers, sensors, switches, displays, lighting, and other electrical components.\n Diagnose vehicle electrical failures and intermittent problems.\n Support electrical system validation and durability testing.\n Work with mechanical engineering to ensure proper integration of electrical components.\n Investigate field and production failures and develop permanent engineering solutions.\n \n Quality, Troubleshooting & Diagnostics\n A major responsibility of this position is advanced troubleshooting and resolution of quality issues.\n The engineer will:\n \n Investigate complex electrical and electromechanical quality problems.\n Diagnose failures occurring during manufacturing, testing, commissioning, and field operation.\n Identify recurring electrical defects and determine their root causes.\n Perform structured root-cause analysis using engineering data, testing, diagnostics, and physical inspection.\n Distinguish between design-related, manufacturing-related, component-related, installation-related, and supplier-related failures.\n Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions.\n Validate corrective actions to ensure problems do not recur.\n Work directly with Quality and Manufacturing teams to resolve nonconformances.\n Analyze warranty, field-service, production, and quality data to identify recurring failure patterns.\n Establish diagnostic procedures and troubleshooting methodologies.\n Develop technical solutions that improve product reliability and reduce defects.\n Participate in formal quality investigations and corrective-action processes.\n Provide engineering recommendations when product or process quality does not meet established requirements.\n \n Engineering Improvements & Continuous Improvement\n The Advanced Senior Electrical Engineer will be expected to continuously identify opportunities to improve Wesley International's products, processes, and engineering practices.\n Responsibilities include:\n \n Identify opportunities to improve electrical system reliability, performance, safety, and manufacturability.\n Redesign components or systems where existing designs create quality or production problems.\n Develop engineering modifications to address recurring failures.\n Reduce electrical defects, rework, scrap, warranty issues, and production interruptions.\n Improve wiring, harnesses, connectors, electrical components, controls, and system interfaces.\n Evaluate alternative components and technologies to improve performance or reduce cost.\n Lead engineering improvement projects from problem identification through implementation and validation.\n Analyze production and field data to identify improvement opportunities.\n Implement design-for-manufacturing and design-for-quality improvements.\n Establish lessons learned and incorporate them into future product designs.\n Support Lean, continuous improvement, and structured problem-solving initiatives.\n \n Manufacturing Engineering Support\n \n Work directly with manufacturing and production personnel to resolve electrical issues.\n Provide immediate technical support for complex production problems.\n Diagnose problems occurring during assembly, testing, and final inspection.\n Determine whether failures originate from design, components, assembly, wiring, programming, testing, or process variation.\n Develop practical engineering solutions that can be consistently implemented in production.\n Support production launches and new product introductions.\n Review manufacturing processes for opportunities to improve electrical quality and reliability.\n Develop or improve electrical inspection and testing procedures.\n Support test equipment and diagnostic-system development.\n Work with technicians and manufacturing personnel to establish effective troubleshooting procedures.\n Provide technical training and guidance to manufacturing and maintenance personnel when required.\n \n Advanced Diagnostics & Failure Analysis\n \n Use electrical test equipment and diagnostic tools to isolate complex system failures.\n Troubleshoot intermittent, difficult-to-reproduce, and multi-system failures.\n Analyze electrical measurements, test results, system behavior, and failure patterns.\n Perform component-level and system-level failure analysis.\n Develop diagnostic procedures for production and service teams.\n Investigate failures under varying load, environmental, and operating conditions.\n Verify suspected failure modes through controlled testing.\n Document findings and communicate technical conclusions to engineering and management.\n Ensure corrective actions are technically validated before implementation.\n \n Product Development & Validation\n \n Lead electrical engineering activities from concept through production.\n Establish electrical design requirements and performance specifications.\n Develop prototypes and support prototype builds.\n Create engineering test plans and validation procedures.\n Conduct design verification and system-level testing.\n Analyze test results and identify necessary design improvements.\n Support reliability, durability, environmental, and performance testing.\n Validate engineering changes before production implementation.\n Support product launches and production ramp-up.\n Ensure electrical designs meet applicable engineering, safety, quality, and customer requirements.\n \n Engineering Documentation & Change Control\n \n Create and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, harness documentation, bills of materials, specifications, and engineering drawings.\n Maintain accurate and revision-controlled engineering documentation.\n Prepare and manage Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and Engineering Change Requests (ECRs).\n Document engineering investigations, test results, corrective actions, and design improvements.\n Ensure production documentation accurately reflects approved engineering configurations.\n Maintain component specifications and approved engineering standards.\n \n Cross-Functional Technical Leadership\n The Advanced Senior Electrical Engineer will work closely with:\n \n Mechanical Engineering\n Manufacturing Engineering\n Quality\n Production\n Product Development\n Purchasing\n Sales\n Suppliers and manufacturing partners\n Senior Leadership\n \n The engineer must be able to translate complex technical problems into clear recommendations and practical solutions for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.\n Advanced Senior Engineering Expectations\n This position requires an engineer who can operate with a high degree of independence and technical judgment.\n The successful candidate will be expected to:\n \n Take ownership of complex engineering problems from identification through resolution.\n Lead technical investigations without requiring continuous supervision.\n Identify the root cause rather than simply treating symptoms.\n Develop permanent corrective solutions for recurring problems.\n Make technically sound recommendations based on data and engineering analysis.\n Challenge existing designs and processes when improvement opportunities are identified.\n Mentor engineers, technicians, and other technical personnel.\n Provide advanced technical training where appropriate.\n Lead cross-functional problem-solving activities.\n Communicate technical risks and recommendations clearly to leadership.\n Balance engineering performance, quality, manufacturability, reliability, cost, and schedule.\n \n Required Qualifications\n \n Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related engineering discipline.\n Extensive professional experience in electrical engineering.\n Significant experience working in a manufacturing environment.\n Advanced experience in electrical system design, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and failure analysis.\n Demonstrated experience resolving complex quality and production issues.\n Strong understanding of electrical power distribution, controls, wiring, sensors, motors, batteries, relays, contactors, and electrical components.\n Ability to read, develop, and troubleshoot electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.\n Strong analytical and root-cause-analysis skills.\n Demonstrated ability to lead engineering improvement initiatives.\n Strong written, verbal, and technical communication skills.\n \n Highly Preferred Experience\n \n 8+ years of progressive electrical engineering experience.\n Advanced experience in automotive or specialty vehicle electrical engineering.\n Experience with AV/autonomous vehicles.\n Experience with electric vehicles and battery-powered systems.\n Experience with rickshaws, stock chasers, utility vehicles, trailers, or similar vehicle platforms.\n Experience with vehicle wiring harnesses and electrical architecture.\n Experience with motors, motor controllers, batteries, chargers, sensors, actuators, and vehicle control systems.\n Experience resolving manufacturing quality issues.\n Experience with failure analysis and corrective/preventive action systems.\n Experience leading continuous improvement projects.\n Experience working directly with production and manufacturing personnel.\n Experience developing advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic experience.\n \n Preferred:\n \n 8+ years of electrical engineering experience.\n Automotive or specialty vehicle engineering experience.\n Vehicle electrical systems experience.\n Advanced experience in quality improvement and failure analysis.\n Experience leading complex engineering projects and technical investigations.\n \n Equivalent combinations of education, specialized training, and directly relevant professional experience may be considered for exceptionally qualified candidates.\n Key Performance Measures\n Success in this role will be demonstrated through the engineer's ability to:\n \n Reduce recurring electrical and electromechanical quality problems.\n Improve product reliability and electrical system performance.\n Resolve complex manufacturing and field failures.\n Reduce electrical defects, rework, scrap, and warranty-related issues.\n Successfully implement engineering improvements.\n Improve diagnostic and troubleshooting capabilities.\n Support successful product launches and production transitions.\n Develop reliable, manufacturable, and serviceable electrical designs.\n Provide advanced technical leadership to engineering and manufacturing teams.\n Deliver measurable improvements in quality, reliability, cost, and production performance.\n \n Work Environment\n This position requires a combination of engineering-office, laboratory, manufacturing, production, and hands-on testing activities.\n The engineer must be comfortable working directly with vehicles, prototypes, electrical systems, manufacturing equipment, production lines, test equipment, and engineering components.\n The position requires an individual who is willing and able to investigate problems physically, perform diagnostics and testing, work alongside technicians and production personnel, and remain engaged until the technical issue has been fully resolved.\n Equal
